Nicole met Martin at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri (a theatre school run by Swiss clown and mime Dimitri) in the Italian part of Switzerland. From 1997 to 1999, Nicole and Martin were members of the Compagnia Dimitri. In 1999 they founded their own independent theatre company, Nicole & Martin, with its wooden-framed big top, wooden caravans and red towing vehicles, which have progressed from tractors upwards.
Since then, Nicole & Martin have travelled throughout the world performing their plays. In the 25 years from 1999 to 2024 we performed 3317 times in 676 venues and in 15 different countries. The shows are translated and performed in 8 different languages. In 2002 Nicole and Martin married one another and now have 2 children.
Today our circus camp consistes of 3 shiny red horse-power trucks, 1 shiny red 4x4, 3 wooden caravans, 1 white theatre tent (17m diametre seating 330 audience members), 1 small front of house tent (7m diametre) and some flower pots. Our team consists of 6 adults.
